Margarita is originally a resident of the small, border town city of Brownsville, Texas. She grew up with limited opportunities for advancement but nonetheless overcame all obstacles and earned her Bachelor's degree in Bilingual Education. She now resides in the beautiful city of San Antonio, Texas and works for Northside ISD as a bilingual teacher at McDermott Elementary.

At the young age of eight, Margarita decided she wanted to become an educator. During her middle school years she had an inspiring English teacher, Mrs. Guttierrez, who encouraged her to pursue her dream of becoming an educator. Although she did not know how she would pay for a college education, Margarita enrolled at the University of Texas at Brownsville. Three and a half years later, on December 15, 2012, with the support of all her family, friends, and the blessing of scholarships such as STARS; which paid for college expenses, Margarita received her Bachelor's Degree in EC-6th Bilingual Education.

Currently, Margarita hopes to enroll at the University of Texas in San Antonio to continue her education and earn a Master's Degree in Adult Education.
